Fanny Hill Dinner Theatre History
Fanny Hill was founded in 1978, and the theatre started out with the name “Top of the Town dance lounge” at the Fanny Hill Supper Club. The first show ever performed was Neil Simon’s “Last of the Red Hot Lovers,” which was orchestrated by a small group of determined creative people.
That same group of talented individuals started the four week rehearsal process. They borrowed costumes. They gathered props. They designed and constructed the set, keeping in mind that every Thursday night the set would have to be dismantled so the lounge could be made ready for the Friday and
In 1980, as the popularity of disco started to fade, the dance lounge was converted to a full-time Theatre and the name was changed to the Fanny Hill Saturday night dance crowds, then re-assembled on Sunday for an evening performance. On a cool Sunday evening in late September 1978 at 8:30 PM, the house lights dimmed, the stage was lit, and the first performance of the then called Top Of The Town Dinner Theatre was under way.
